I have some flytrap seedlings and a BUNCH of D. capensis seedlings in a south window. I want to get them a head start on spring, and am planning on placing them in 14 hours of artificial light (3 24watt daylight CFLs in a light box I made). Do they need to acclimate over to this different light? Or can I just move them over to the light directly?

More hours maybe? I was going to put the little guys about 2.5-3 inches away from the lights.

Thanks!

You probably don't need to as long as the light strength is similar. Maybe 16 hours would be better, but 14 is pretty sufficient. 2.5 to 3 in is fine :)

I've moved my plants to complete artificial light with no ill-effects at all,you should be fine doing the same :) Just make sure they get plenty of time underneath it,i give mine around 12 hours, but 14 or 16 is better :)
