It's very odd. Never had this happen before.

The top is fine, green.

The bottom is still blood red (that's what this species does)

But the middle is solid white.

There are more and more patches appearing in my tray as time goes by.

There's no water shortage and it's obviously not a lighting problem considering the top is fine.

The moss is not in the shadows by any means.

It's practically mushy if I squish it.

Also seems like spider webs around the white.
I do see a spider or two, but is this Web maybe a mold or fungus issue?

The key is its JUST the middle having this problem

That's the dead part. It is actually the lighting- the top moss is stopping the light from reaching the middle. The white would revive if you put it in bright light, but it's normal for the shaded portions of the moss to go white.

For $7 I'd have to pick one of those up myself!
