my mum had to get rid of a strawberry plant that died in the winter and said that i can have the metal pot it was in for my sarras. is this ok? there is no rust on it and its painted yellow

Metal is a very good conductor of heat, so the roots would overheat extremely quick, so wouldn't reccomend it :)

I put some in a tall metal pot, but as he said, it overheats, even though the paint is mostly white, it gets really hot pretty fast. Which is unfortunate, since they are conveinent, but I would say to avoid them, and the rust might leak some oxide and possibly hurt them.
