Making a Root Cut

The roots of the flycatcher I just bought were very long. So I had to cut about 2-4 cm from the tip of the roots (only from those that are too long). Would this be a problem for the flycatcher? What consequences can it have? Thanks in advance.

In the meantime, I had to cut it because I was going to do a soil change. Immediately after slaughter, I planted it in new soil.

You should never cut the roots of a flytrap. The rhizome will produce more roots, but the plant will slow its growth. If the roots are too long for the pot, simply curl them around the bottom.

I wouldn't suggest cutting the roots unless they are already dead. It will set the plant back

If you cut the dead ones, you'll most likely end up with duds, if your sundew has lots of live roots, I'd suggest cutting one or two of them.

I think OP is talking about trimming flytrap roots.

Oh then, never mind. You can't grow flytraps from roots.
