Make your CP plants glue stick/silicon "amber" medallion

With a glue gun and a glue stick, i made some "amber" medallions. Be careful not to let air in. It will make bubbles. Just wait a little and add another layer of glue stick, but not to quickly and not to late. Should i move this to tutorials ?
Attention :
- Don't do this with a life plant. I think that VFT trap was not that dry. This is why is yellow on its margins (if not dried, the yellow color will appear later). The nepenthes trap was ok.
- Work with your window open, on a table on a paper, even if the smell is not bad (smells like a new plastic toy) doesn't leave smoke.
- It is hot, let it cool down.
- When you finish the work, the paper will stay on the medallion back. If you try to remove it, some paper will remain. I didn't try to work on a plastic hard surface, so i wouldn't have a paper on its back. You could try it.

Thanks for posting this roarke, but I'm not sure exactly what purpose this serves. Can you give more information about what this might be used for?

You can make a keychain with it. The material is hard enough. It can serve as a showing others what a nepenthes cup can look like. If not many layers of glue stick are used, it may be more transparent. You can use transparent silicon to. My glue stick was labeled "silicon". Fixed the thread title.

Hey Roarke! I love anything crafty lol I've actually looked into this type of craft before. Although glue is much easier, for maximum clarity you can also use clear resin to make something like this although it takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it.

Here are some examples

From what I've seen this type of material can be used with anything organic and preserves it exactly like Amber from a tree would.

Thanks for showing me this. But i won't do it with something alive (like a flower or an insect). Must be the hand of nature, in case of a live insect or plant. I will do it only with a dried plant.

Oh yeah you can't do it with a live insect, that would be sad and probably wouldn't work well at all. If I found a dead bug that was cool looking I might try it or if someone gave me pretty flowers and I wanted to preserve one. Like you said a nepenthes pitcher or a Fly trap's Trap would be very cool to try with this.
