The soil looks like peat moss. Get it out of that junk soil. Put it in long fiber sphagnum.

Oh, cool, thanks! I actually have one of my own, but it never colors up for me like that. The top half of the pitchers are yellow-green and the bottom is orange-light red. Anyone know why?

1) I think they're seed grown
2) I've never seen a clone like that before. Have you?

They're about the same size as @bird's and theirs is very red.

By the way, is N. briggsiana the same as N. lowii x ventricosa 'Red', meaning are they genetically identical?

Also, is this hybrid good as a beginner, windowsill nepenthes? It's finally warm enough for shipping nepenthes and I was thinking of getting N. 'Diana', but I've just really liked how nice this hybrid looks and was thinking of getting it.

Briggsiana and lowii x ventricosa 'red' are the same hybrid, but not necessarily genetically identical. There are different clones to chose from, so some would be identical and others not. I would say it is a decent windowsill plant, but with the lowii parent, it could be slower and harder. If I were you, I would try a different windowsill Nepenthes first and if it goes well, try lowii x ventricosa 'red'
