Lizard!

I came back from my bike ride today and checked the plants and found this lizard already dead. You'd think it would be big enough to escape, with just its head caught.

That's a testament to the power of VFTs! They are badasses!

Never doubt the clamping force of a flytrap. It strangled that little anole.

I checked yesterday afternoon after work to see if it was starting to smell, but the body was mostly gone, just maybe a bit of neckbone hanging from the trap. I went to take a picture of it today and even that is gone. Holding it up to the light it looks like the head is still in there and the trap is still clamped tight! The plant is unharmed as far as I can tell.

The weird thing is that it is on a screened-in porch with some lizards and an occasional wasp. Are lizards cannibals?

There are some holes in the screen where a bird could conceivably get in, but that is rare.

Wasps, particularly Yellow Jackets, would eat a lizard.
