I'm trying a new, shallow pan method for my Sarrs so they're not restricted by the shelves on the rack, but I anticipate a mosquito issue. I have mosquito dunks, but they don't seem to work very well for me. Maybe Aldrovanda will keep them under control.

Meadowview has them for $5 a pop. Thanks for reminding me actually since I was meaning to order some myself once it warmed up.

Well, it seems like I didn't look closely enough. I mistook the book (sold out) for a plant, then saw the "buy 50 for $50", glossing right over the $5 spot. Thanks.

Where can I find meadowview's plants for sale? When I looked on their website, it just said how they're trying to preserve sarrs.

They charge a lot for shipping, maybe I'll wait a bit and see if anyone here has some that I can buy from them.

My order I started to put in earlier was $26 for shipping. Was only going to be for 5ish plants too, so not like it would've been a large box or anything.

You should try some Utricularia inflata plants. They're hardy down to zone 5a. When I was a teenager, there was an area like this

a few miles from my parents' house. I still remember the blanket of yellow flowers popping out of the water all summer long.

Oh yeah. inflata floats at the surface:

No substrate needed. You just have to keep it wet and make sure that the tray water doesn't get too warm.

Where do you live Chef? I’ve forgotten over the years. I use Gambusia (mosquito fish) in my water table for mosquito control. Hopefully you live somewhere they are native and can go net a few out of your nearest ditch. That’s what I do. They work great and multiply like crazy.
