Is it too late to cut this flower stalk?

I just picked up a Dente (an actual labeled one this time!) and an Akai Ryu from a hardware store. They both look to be in fair to decent condition. I would rather cut the flowers, but the Dente's buds look to be so far along that I'm wondering if it would even make a difference. Can somebody more experienced than me provide some insight?

I attached pics of both the buds and the plant itself.

I think the optimum is when it is 2 or 3 inches long. Since you’re beyond that, maybe it makes sense to keep it on.

Unless you're really wanting flowers and seed, I'd snip it. Cutting off flowers never hurts no matter how far along. It would be better if it was snipped off sooner, but it'll be fine.

Alright, cool. I do not want flowers, and I don't need seeds. So I cut it and planted it on one of those tiny 2" planters that come in the Lowes death cubes.
