Is it okay to use compressed coconut fiber expendable substr

So i recently bought a fish tank for a carnivorous bog garden and was surprised when these blocks came with them.while i know that you put water and these expande and you can use the soil from it but my question is can i use it for my carnivorous plants?ImageImage

I don't think you can...maybe try soaking it in some purified water and check the PPM with a TDS meter, if its below 50 then it should be okay. you either want to use peat moss or long fiber sphagnum moss for your CP's.

You can use it but it would have to be throughly rinsed as it offen has high salt. Adding something like pine needles to make the media more acidic would probably be beneficial for many CPs.
