Tried this little experiment last evening. It’s a very manual process at the moment, which I do not like for long term solution, but I think it would work. Basically place some frozen icepacks in the cooler (which I already own for my BBQ food), throw in a temperature and humidity sensor, and hope it gets cool enough.

Will some more experience highland growers please weigh in?

I do have some space in my wine cooler for one small plant, but I am afraid the wine cooler would strip the plan of humidity during the night. Not sure if that would be worth the convenience of place and do nothing or not.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't had issues with humidity loss although I'm sure it's happening. You might try keeping the cooler in the tent so when you open it the humidity stays the same.

this cooler in the photo above had no loss in humidity. What I mean was like a wine refrigerator. I have one that is set for like 53 degree or something along those lines. I thought all refrigerators would also strip the humidity out. The only advantage of keeping the plant in that wine cooler would be no longer needing to place the icepacks in the freezer each morning. I can keep doing what I am doing for the short term. It's really just until we get back into cooler temps at night - sometime in mid November our lows will typically get into the 60s. Stays like that through about mid March. So ice cooler for about 8 months out of the year.

Maybe email Brad from Brad's greenhouse and garden. I think I've seen a chest freezer used in his YouTube video for highlanders
