Pikes had about 8 of these nepenthes miranda for sale for $40. I have just about killed my ventrata and ventricosa about 4 times each so I think I'll pass on miranda. But it sure is beautiful. On a scale of 1 to 10, where does a miranda lie on difficulty/finickiness?

Whatever could be done wrong, I pretty much did. The first destruction was caused by my desire to not water as frequently. I put the pots in a tray and, yep, root rot. The next failure was the next season when I decided that they weren't getting enough sun. Apparently 6 hours of direct Georgia sun was too much. The final failure was this spring when I decided that it was time for them to be outside. 40 degrees that night and they about gave up the ghost. The good news is that I have learned from each of these debacles. I have also gotten very good at rooting cuttings and basals. So, I am fully confident that this summer I will not freeze, drown, or fry said nepenthes. I'm not sure I'm ready for miranda but I don't know how difficult it is.

Agreed, Miranda is a very rough plant. Almost hard to kill. I've had some growing in my indoor sunroom for about 15 years now.
