I have this tree in my backyard that I see everywhere I go, they make these really nice pink pom-pom like flowers during the summer. For the life of me I can't remember what they're called. When I was little my dad would call them dinosaur trees, since they may have been around that long, but I can't remember.

Very nice trees that close their leaves at night!
Ahah, that's it thank you man -.- oh man, I feel like that guy in that KGB commercial. Finally I have peace of mind, and yes they do close at night, I always thought that was the coolest part :)

Nah, people seem to get those 2 confused. It's leaves only close at night, while mimosa close on touch.

It looks like a Mimosa tree. But the flowers seem different. And my question is, do they grow that big? I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe if you stroke one of the leaves and then it folds, then you would know it's a mimosa. But mimosa plants lose their sensitivity after a while.
