Steve uses 12 part desalinated coconut husk to 5 parts silica sand.

I am glad to see that i am notthe only person who uses coco husk! I have found that orchid bark and coco husk work very well for Neps.

I've just recently picked up some coconut husk. I've mixed it 50/50 with Turface. I only have one typical planted in it at this point. Seems to hold moisture well without getting soggy. Will probably try another typical in 75/25 coir to Turface.
