Howdy Good Members,wanna ask a question
how many times can a trap open and close?just wanna know.also wanna ask one more,if the trap doesnt close tightly(the teeth doesnt meet.its just get closer),does that been declared close?

About 3-4 times, and yes id class a teeth dont meet close as a close, but maybe wont use so much energy as it does tighten.

I have had a Big Mouth that closed about 4 or 5 times. But its usally 2 with all my plants. then after a while that trap dies, an no a new one does not take its planc. the new traps are already growing, so its not 1 dies one comes.

I've had em go inactive after 1 close. It depends on the individual trap (not just the plant)

Masmith, I too have encountered that. It seems the more light the less they close for me.

Oh i didnt know that, yeah he did some great write ups.

I remember seeing a video clip on YouTube in which a guy did an
experiment.

He video recorded triggering a trap on his VFT.
I think he did it around 10 times.

I remember reading some of the comments criticizing him for doing such
a thing on his VFT. Hehe!

Uuuggh, I can't remember the link to that video. I should've bookmarked it.

If anyone knows that video link here, it would be awesome.

I think if it catches a bug it will open and close 3 and a half times
the fourth time i think it might catch the bug then die b4 it opens back up

Got a headache searching for it.
I was about to give up and go to sleep,
but I found it. Hehe!

The guy triggered the trap 12 times.
He made a recording everytime he triggered the trap.

Some traps can close several times when the plant is kept in good conditions. A guy on the polish forums did it 19 times. I was never bored enough to do such observations myself:D
