How did I do repotting? (Beginner)

Hello all,

I am new to VFT (bought 2 of my 3 plants from FTS!). I was hoping I could get some critique on my reporting job. I bought this guy from a local store 3 months ago and repotted him a few weeks later. Unfortunately I repotted him in a very small pot I 3D printed. I got some VFTs from FTS recently and realized my original plant was in a very small pot for his size so I decided to repot him today. He’s planted in some long fiber sphagnum moss with perlite. Fire away with any criticism. Any comments about the overall health of him is also appreciated. Thanks!

I think that is as near to perfect as I have seen for someone asking about potting their flytrap. Well done!

On another note, we really need to talk to @Matt about the training of his flytraps. I have seen numerous cases of people asking for advice after reporting the plants. I'm not exactly sure who they reported them to or what the plants did but the plants are from Oregon so there is no telling.. ;)

   Darn autocorrect!!

I agree with @Panman, it is very well potted. If it were my plant, I might settle the rhizome just slightly deeper in the moss, like 1/8 to 1/4 inch, but it will grow just fine as is!

Haha that darn Siri. My apologies for the typo. Thanks for your responses. Not bad for my second time REPOTTING? I’ll admit I used the expertly potted traps from FTS as guides for what a properly potted trap should look like. Do you all think repotting so frequently (one month since I last repotted it) will hurt it? I promise this is the last time I’m repotting it for at least a year haha.

It looks so good now, I would not mess with it. While they can handle the moving around, ideally you want to leave them alone and let them do their thing. If you are talking about making Matt's adjustment, just carefully wiggle and push the crown a little lower or ad some more moss to the top. It certainly doesn't require a complete repot in its current condition.

It wouldn't kill it but it would force it to have to settle in again, which would set it back a bit.

Exactly! Thanks for clarifying @Panman!!!
