The white ring is nectar right? Or some kind of sugar to lure the ants or bugs?

It’s a crystalline secretion that lures termites. The plants feast primarily on the termites which consume the white ring or the white ring ages to brown when the hairs have aged or washed away. Apparently it’s range is limited to the termites’ range, meaning it is a lowland plant with highland forms, stopping where the elevation gets too cold for the termites to be prevalent. I’m eager to grow the dark purple locality, which is also referred to as gray or black.
