What is causing this? I live in Austin Texas.
I have them in a greenhouse outside. We had some freezing weather, but they were protected from the cold.
I just brought them inside.
Was the flowering a problem?

It looks like cold damage to me, too. I had some Neps experience cold weather (slightly above freezing) for a few hours and I brought them inside before it actually got below the freezing point, but ~40% of the plants did not survive regardless. If you anticipate a day of temperatures below 40F, I'd bring them inside, even if they are highland Neps. The flower probably did not help it either.
