Some of my VFT have gone black in a week. Whole plant. The ends. Under still has green but the stalk up is black also. No sign of pests. Any ideas would be appreciated. These are alongside ones that didn’t have any effect.

A whiff of pesticide carried by a swirling breeze? Or a tall dog?

Has it been awhile since they’ve been repotted? A few of mine did that this spring coming out of dormancy because of sudden freezes, but I imagine they didn’t go through dramatic freezing and thawing in Florida. I’d clean off all the black and get them into fresh media/lfsm. If the rhizomes are fine, they’ll come back.

These are up 4-5 feet above anything on a wooden stand. I don’t over water them, don’t keep them in a tray of water. They have been in the LFSM for about a year. Can’t imagine it is bad. Only rain water when they get watered.

A few of mine did this recently, too. I'm planning to repot them this weekend so I can check the condition of their rhizomes.
