Panic sets in...sirens going off....flashing blue, red, green, pink, lights going off (yeah, pink, whadaboutit? ) Screams echo through the forest. Little critters scatter in terror. Ok, so I've got a sick plant. :|

I've got a D. capensis "Wide Leaf" (CalCarn clone x self) that I grew from FTC seed bank seeds. It has been doing good along with a few siblings. I walked in the other day and found leaves turning black!!!! What is going on? Nothing that I know of has changed...same water...topwatered and seldom stands in water, lighting, same ol' same ol'... Fungus? Bacteria? Plague? What should I do? I'm at a lost. :?

It could be nothing. Can you send a picture of the whole plant?

Thats what I was thinking based upon my narrow leaf. Leaves get old, turn dark, and dry up.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep my eyes on it. It’s got a good flower stalk so hoping to get some seeds off of it. :)

I noticed that the adjacent plant looks quite healthy. A flowering cycle will also debilitate a Cape. Every time mine have flowered the rest of the plant looks terrible. I'd say your plant is doing everything right.

Some people seem to have aged like fine wine. I aged like milk… I got sour and chunky.
