Heavy Rains

a few weeks back I had a few nights of heavy rain that washed some peat from my pots. the soil got all over the plant leaves, and left dents in the soil, exposing some roots. i think my baby maroon monster may not have made it, it's all black and might possibly be upside down.
my question is, will the soil hinder the plant's growth, and does anyone have any ideas as to how to protect them?
the reason I haven't posted this before is that my outdoor cps used to be on a table where they were in the open.
but I had to move them, and I put them under my shed's roof, where the water drips down in a concentrated line, directly onto the plants.
there isn't really any other safe place for them that has full sun, either

The dirt shouldn't be a problem. You can remove it with a spray bottle of water. Anything you do to protect it from the overhang will also reduce the amount of light. You could attach a gutter to the shed and pipe it to s trash can. That would protect your plants and allow you to collect the water.

You could dress the surface with long fibered sphagnum moss. That will keep peat from being splashed everywhere.

+1 on that. I put a thin layer of sphagnum moss on all of my pots. They have sat through hurricane downpours without losing a speck of soil.

A simple spell, but quite unbreakable.

Put a bit of guttering up to catch the water and stop it dripping on the plants.
