I live in the west coast too. I think I'll just double up the shade cloth and hose down the surface the trays are on.

@MikeB, Yeah, 107°F tomorrow!! Yikes!!

No, I'm not doing anything special for my plants. Gonna leave my newly acquired Cephalotus 'Eden Black' out there to see just how tough these little guys are. It's done well through the heat we've had the last few weeks. Tomorrow is going to be the hottest day of the summer, but we've already had 105°F and all of the plants are fine, including all of the Cephalotus I have growing out there. Luckily, the temps drop dramatically at night, which helps immensely. And we do get shade on the greenhouses starting around 3 pm, so they're spared from full sun during the hottest parts of the day. But the air temperature is still over 100, so they have to deal with that. They seem to do fine as long as they are hydrated and not in full, direct sunlight when it is over 95.

Oh wow!

My Cobra died. One of them, the one I grow outdoors. Left for the day, returned, and it was shriveled. Got it in some ice water to try and restore turgor pressure before it's too late.

Cobras need cool roots all the time. They are tricky to grow because of that.

It was super hot here in Ashland on Saturday! 111°F recorded at our house. Not 100% sure on the accuracy of the temp but it was the hottest we have ever seen here.

Our plants did great! Even the new Cephalotus didn't take too much offense to the heat!

Cheese & Rice that's hot! We only got up to 97 F. here where I am in N.Y. so far. Glad we're not in Death Valley! 130 F.!
