That's a very healthy looking VFT! Do you have it growing outside? It looks like one of those Bloomrite (the company that distributes them) VFTs. I bought about 10 of them last year at Wal-Mart. They are great plants.

No I growmy VFT inside but i took the photo outside because i couldn't get a very good quality picture.

Where do you live robbieg1010? It appears as though your plant isn't going dormant yet. Do you live in Australia?

no i live in united kingdom.
this picture was about 1 week ago because i only just got it to download
when i try to feed it a maggot the trap just doesn't close.
why not??

why not??

Traps don't close for various reasons. Here are a few:
1) It's too cold
2) The plant is dormant
3) The trap has opened and closed too many times (they can only open and close a few times before they won't close anymore)

If you are in the UK, your plant should be going dormant now. Do you have it outside?

VFTs do the best when grown outdoors. It could be that yours is ill due to lack of light and that may be why the traps won't spring...not sure.
