Hi Everybody,

Do green VFTs grow faster than red ones do? Now that Droopy is bathing in enough light, his new growth is dark red, but he seemed to grow faster before the red petiole sprouted.

Yes, typically the red-leafed flytraps grow a bit more slowly than the green-leafed flytraps. This is likely due to the anthocyanin (the pigments that give red flytraps their color) filtering out some portion of the photosynthesizable sunlight. But not all red-leafed flytraps are slower growing. FTS Maroon Monster, for example, can keep up with even the fastest growing and largest green-leafed flytraps :)
