Optimus you will find a girl that accepts your plant hobby. Look at Matt and his wife. Saying that my wife has no interest whatsoever lol but she leaves me too it with an occasional eye roll and smile.

When you have a nuisance behavior, no matter from a human or bird or dog, you have to think: what is the goal here? What are they looking for? For many nuisance behaviors, they are looking just for attention. The way to get rid of the nuisance is to deprive it of attention.

A long way to say: don't feed the troll. Completely ignore it --deprive it of what it wants (attention!) -- and it will go away. Continue the convo as if they never appeared. Replying also makes us suffer them longer, not just you : - )
