My Drosera cistiflora is looking reasonably happy. It is sending up a vertical stalk with larger leaves. It is fairly small, the basal rosette is about an inch in diameter.

I don't think it will flower this year. This is the Purple flowered variety that came from a large West Coast CP Nursery.

I also have a pot full of Pink flowered D. cistiflora seedlings from my latest water germination project. They're small yet, don't look like much of anything.

Good growing,
Mike

Yours is much further along than mine. My plant FINALLY woke up from dormancy less than a week ago and doesn't even have a proper rosette going yet. It seems to have divided though which I didn't even know this species did.

The stem is growing quickly on this D. cistiflora. It's only been a week or so since my last photo. Here is an updated shot.

Good growing,
Mike

Mine never came out of dormancy this past Fall/Winter, it's a Winter growing plant.

RIP
:(

California Carnivores sells it from time to time.
If you get one, proper Summer soil dryness seems to be the critical factor, at least I think so.
But then again, mine died so what do I know.

Pity you lost it, Mike. That was a very cool plant. Had never seen one before.

I think most people kill these by drying them out too much. I've left mine in a water tray the entire summer and had them come back up just fine, though I think it confuses the plant a bit and am going to try drying them out at least somewhat in the future.

I got a D. cistiflora, so any care tips? Specifically, which soil mix, and does it need high humidity or is it like capensis? I want it to flower ASAP!
