Here are two pics of the new subadult female 'hiding' from me. She is about half a centimeter smaller than my previous one and much duller but she is still beautiful.

Moulting pics... he fell halfway through so I had to hang him on a bramble thorn. His legs are bowed and all of his tarsi were eaten apart from one so he cannot climb or hang onto any surfaces.

Leaving for Paris for 3 days from today. Woke up at 3am to find my first ever Sphodromantis sp. with proper 'night-eyes'.

Came back today from holiday in France to find that the female had moulted to adult!
Whoo...
A bit gutted though as she turned out to be a pretty small individual. Around the same size as my previous subadult green female.

People often ask if the Sphodromantis they have is either S. viridis or S. lineola (Currently the two most common Sphodromantis spp. in culture here in the UK).

The most obvious difference is the number of white dots/spots that can be seen on the front/inside of their coxa... S. lineola have many small white dots while S. viridis on the other hand has 3 large, distinct spots as can be seen in this image by precarious333:

Another way to differentiate a S. viridis (left) from a S. lineola (right) is to look at the shape of their pronotum.
S. viridis' pronotum suddenly 'retracts' after the 'main shield' (no clue on the terminology here ) while it is much smoother up to the wings from the 'main shield' in S. lineola.

*I took the image of S. lineola from google BTW, then drew in the lines. I did NOT take the photo of the lineola*

My viridis:
