I just ordered N. Ampullaria Red and N. Eustachya seeds, and I was wondering what your best germination method is for nep seeds. I have a while before they ship and get here

Normal media except for the surface, FINELY chopped LFSM. Sprinkle the seeds on top, put into high humidity. Should have germination.

Ampullaria seed germinates relatively fast compared to other nep species. Normal moist sphagnum setup like everyone does. Never let it dry out. At temperature of 25-30C, can expect some germination from the third week after sown. I germinated a few times of different color forms (red, green). Both seeds from my plants and those from other growers. All took about the same duration to germinate.

Germination is the easy part. Ampullaria is slow growing from there. Took 4 years to reach appreciable size, when the true color of pitcher can be observed.

I don't have experience with eustachya germination.
