Hello. Someone gave me some N. Gracilis seed. I chopped up some LFS really fine, got it nice and wet and put the seeds on top of that uncovered and put them in my terrarium to germinate. Anyone have any tips on growing N. Gacilis from seed?

N. garcilis , are a low land plant and grows in full tropical sun at 35 to 38 c and 70 to 90 % humidity all year round so you will need to imitate that climate to get them to germinate , a tip spray with fungicide now and once a month till germination as if you have handled them at all at any time they will have been contaminated ok !!

Be patient... in last trial of gracilis, I got some germinations after 7 weeks waiting... (seems forever).
Good luck!

Thanks for the tips everyone. I was reading germination instructions on the Nep University site. They had my hopes up saying neps take anywhere from 2 days to a few weeks. I'm hoping something pops up sooner than later. Thanks again everyone!

i never heard of any nepenthes seeds germinate within 2 days, the fastest i ever heard is 7days while i have experience seeds germinate within two weeks, keep them warm, as they are lowland in Malaysia, means more hot and more humid!! mine have a lot germinated, hope they will be the same as you

Yes, 2 days for any seeds is too quick. Probably about a week or so maybe 2-3.
