I had a Capensis flower this spring and I collected the seeds after the stalk dried. A few weeks ago I spread about 50 of them on a fresh pot of peat/Perlite and have been patiently waiting for signs of baby sundews. Haven't see anything yet.
The pot is in a sunny window and is in a vented bag so it doesn't overheat. Temp is around 75 °F.
I wonder if the seeds simply weren't viable or I'm just being impatient. Online info says germination can vary from 2 to 6 weeks. What germination times have some you seen for your Capensis seeds?

I usually expect germination by 6 weeks.
I try to not even look at them until 4 weeks have elapsed.
Were the seeds black when you harvested them?
If not, they could have been immature and if so, they may not germinated.

Woo hoo! Five of the seeds have sprouted tiny baby sundews. Hoping to see more in the next few days.
I've been reading about how to care for newborns, and I'll get some betta pellets this week. They look pretty delicate right now so I'll wait a couple weeks before feeding them.
