Hi all,

Can anyone give me advice about gemmae. Growing from, what are they, harvesting....?

well Andy.. Gemmae are little reproductive bodys that some pygmy sundews make.. you can't save them because they are alive.. when get fall off the mother plant you have to put them on soil IMMEDIATELY!

Gemmae are modified leaves that are produced on the parent plant usually in Autumn, they continue to develop and ripen and are usually dispersed by raindrops (so when ripe they fall away easily). To grow pygmy Drosera from gemmae, you simply prepare a (preferably deep) pot of CP soil, tamp down the surface and sprinkle the gemmae on top - misting twice daily helps to get them established and they will grow VERY fast, in favorable conditions they will reach maturity in their first year.

Lesson learned from my experience. They love sandy soil. Too much peat will kill it.
