Electric immersion heater for a humidifier replacement ?

May i use a electric immersion heater (or what is called this electric heather to boil water for tea etc) as a replacement for a humidifier ?

I've seen people suggest this on YouTube. It’s the same concept of boiling water on the stove so I don't see why you couldn't. I'm not sure how cost efficient it would be...

Is it going to be concealed in a small terrarium? I thinking you’re using it for a room that your plants are in which will not make much of a difference in temperature.
