I'm reserving it until they get back to me or not, but there is general interest in expanding the CP collection at the University.

Good for them! What is their current collection?

Well I've only been up there once, it was a few weak looking Sarrs, I think they might need some instruction on the care of CPs, they have water misting in there but I assume it's not too clean. Though they have a huge plat of extremely healthy and deep red sphagnum.

Well, at least they are interested in cps. I thought that would be it, we have a museum that kept VFTs in a terrarium. Two years, they looked fantastic, and then with no dormancy they (surprise!) died. They use a big cistern that they collect rain water in for all their plants and fish, so that is probably why they did not get chemically poisoned.

Still, it was pretty while it lasted.

Yeah if you can grow CPs you should be proud I think. Seems like if you can grow a CP you can grow anything :).

If nobody else want them, I will take the last one/ones you got. My cousins are interested in trying some sundews from seed.

Yeah I might close this out soon. I've given away about 1500 seeds so far, and awaiting about envelopes for 400-500.

Katya_dog, I might be able to share 300-400 more seeds with you if you send a SASE.

Especially because you take pictures!!! These seeds take a realllly long time to germinate in my experience so we're all going to have to be patient.

You also might want to save some for late winter, cause they'll germinate and be ready for full sun outside in the spring (maybe you could bring them in on cold nights).

O.K., will do! The ones you gave me already have sprouted, but you are right, they do take a while! I will update w/ pics this sunday.

I could save some for late winter, I kind of want to get a lot of plants in an outdoor bog, and then just let them seed, collect it in the fall, and then give it away and save some for the next year. How much does the viability decrease if the seeds are kept dry and cool? Are we talking 25 percent, or like 75 percent?

I can't precisely answer your question, but I can plainly state that those seeds are at least

A year and a half old, so whatever your germination rate is... expect equal or better if using your own set seed (in terms of drying time not other conditions like light/feeding) they have been kept in paper envelopes, they were in the "butter" shelf of the fridge. If you plant on storing the original seed, I don't think it would fall drastically, as I'm surprised they're still viable to this point. I would expect less of a drop off, maybe 75-80% what you see now.

I think it would be great if you could do your own give-away. It would be so cool to see the progression of that since the original plants were seeds given to me too!

Great! And as I said, the ones you gave me already have sprouted, You're right, it would be cool to have a generation of Indica that had all been given away!
