I've been looking at this particular seedling and quite a few others from the same batch of seed harvested in 2008 from FlytrapRanch by Steve. There are a couple dozen or so that all look very similar and I think that they look very much like Dracula. For a reference of what Dracula looks like, see Bob Ziemer's Photo finder here:
http://www.cpphotofinder.com/dionaea-dracula-2124.html
For a quick reference, here's a shot of Dracula (there are a lot more photos at the above link):

Here are a few shots of one of the unnamed seedlings that is growing in my greenhouse:

I also got a plant from Bob Ziemer last year that was Jaws X Petite Dragon and it had similar characteristics. My guess is that whatever genetic traits cause the look of Dracula aren't that rare when making crosses with Dentate Traps plants and other plants with good coloration.

WOW... I like the unnamed ones better....

Awesome coloration... almost like a sun burst or tequila sunrise...

I wonder if that's a cross between Red Piranha and Dentate Traps. I had a lot of both clones in seed production in 2008, and both produced plentiful pollen and seed.

This plant looks really nice, Matt.

Well, it is sending up a flower stalk right now (I had it in my unheated greenhouse, so it's a bit behind the rest of my plants). I'll likely try to propagate it. It's the best looking out of the bunch of seedlings that I've seen that look similar.

I like both of the names you threw out there too...."FTS Tequila Sunrise" and "FTS Sun Burst" have nice rings to them :)

Lame Question Warning:

What is the definition of FTS?

Other than that, I think Tequila Sunrise is a bit more fitting than Sunburst. Ovbiously you are welcome to them, with no credit necessary... unless I was Microsoft... the words are a bit too common to trademark.

I just cannot wait to see what happens after you do your TC (assuming that is what you are going to do) on them.

Not lame at all. I've always disliked acronyms. I feel like people use them in most cases for the explicit reason of talking over other people's heads and to make them feel less intelligent. Anyway...

FTS = FlyTrapStore

Similar to some other TC labs and carnivorous plant nurseries like BCP (Best Carnivorous Plants) Steve and I have decided to include FTS in the name of any clones that we decide to name and propagate.

"Dracula" used to be on top of my want list.

Then the offspring from seed you posted in this thread changed my mind.....

http://www.flytrapcare.com/phpBB3/dracu ... t2963.html

But after seeing these pics, this is definitely
first along with Mr. Bob Ziemer's 'Jaws' X 'Petite Dragon'.

This is really beautiful, with unique, exceptional coloration
and nice Dente characteristics.

I'll be waiting eagerly for either of these to be on sale on FTS. :)

I remember some pictures you took a few months back of one of your seedlings and compared it to Dracula, is this the same plant? It's a stunner! I vote for "FTS Tequila Sunrise" as well!
