This is what I am using
WIFI Tuya Timer Socket Thermostat Digital Temperature Controller Socket Outlet With Timer Switch Sensor Probe Heating Cooling. I like it because I can check and contol the temp remotely.

The cooler has a heat matt in the bottom and led light strips along the top.
Approximately how big of a cooler? And I assume you mean the light strips are grow lights?
Just a standard coleman cooler. 50 quart? Like one used for a weekend campout.

Perfect, I have several of those if I choose to go that route.
I would love to see photos of your dormancy set-up once you have it ready to go again for the season. Visuals are always a plus for me.

I'm in north/central AZ and my Sarrs and VTFs go in the garage when the first light freezes show up. The garage door has windows so it's never completely dark during the day, and temps stay around 40-45 °F even when it's below freezing outside.
The VTFs are already showing signs of wanting to go dormant due to the short days but I'm waiting for the cold weather.

"Poultry water heaters" are enclosed heaters that automatically warm up when the temps are below freezing. I use this with my backyard hens. They never get hot: just designed to keep water from freezing.

This could be another options for someone using an enclosed "deep storage" dormancy method like a food cooler in a frozen garage.
