Hi, I'm going to create a new mini bog in a 46-quart container and I am in need of Sarracenia purpurea and Sarracenia Rubra, so I was wondering if anyone can donate the plants or rhizomes of the plants to me. Another option is that I will trade 2-3 typical venus flytraps. I will send an envelope with stamps or a small box to send back to me. If so please PM me. :)

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but I don't think you will have great success. Considering that you are asking for free plants with 0 prior posts. Also most probably ship carnivorous plants in packages. If you maybe put up a trade or a fee you will probably have better success.

None of the temperate species are particularly expensive, so you could just buy some. They grow like weeds, so by next summer you'll have more plants than you could have dreamed of.

After you've been a forum member for a while, you may want to check out our FTC Community Seedbank.

Right now the only Sarracenia seeds in stock are S. purpurea but check out the inventory from time to time. It changes as new species are added from member donations.

The stock leans heavily toward Drosera but that's the seed most often donated.

Good growing,
Mike

I second, HeliamphoraWalnut. Lee's Botanical garden is a good place to start if your new. Nice plants for VERY reasonable prices and cheap shipping. I previously bought 3 sarrs and 2 drosera and with shipping it was right around $20. Good luck.
