Please help. I set my plant outside to get a little sun and my dog took exception I guess and gave it a little tinkle. I flushed it the best I could with distilled water, but today there is a hard turn to black. Do I cut those off? Should u unwrap it all and replant in moss? Your assistance os appreciated.

First, I would recommend repotting it if you have seen a decline in the plant’s health. Second, find an Audrey II and feed it your dog. Then give me a division, the neighborhood children are getting a bit annoying

wow your plant looks better than all my flytraps. you must be an expert for it to look so good. can you tell me what soil you use?

that would be live spagnum moss, commonly referred to as lfsm. the dead kind works just as well though.
also, to Rob, yes, i suggest a repot. it is possible to just try and wash the spagnum with regular tap then at the end rinsing it with a bit of distilled water

i suggest you flush it with like... 3 gallons of water. the uric acid is gonna damage the roots. or re-pot it.

Oh, I find myself totally in your situation. Basically, the urine is toxic to the leaf tissue. Dog urine contains waste products that can harm the plants, resulting in burned, wilted leaves and, in some cases, the death of the plant itself.

Dog pee is potent. My evergreen shrubs occasionally get "watered" by the neighbor's dog and it kills that whole section off and looks terrible.

I tried to avoid issues with my dog's urine harming my plants by designating a plant-free zone in my yard that my dog can use to eliminate. But even so, there were times when he urinated on my plants. So I installed a wireless dog fence and learned how to cook marrow bones for dogs (because the best dog food is marrow bones ) so that he can play outside without me always looking after him.
