I'm going to attempt to cross D. capensis and D. spatulata this weekend. I notice that sometimes, the flowers don't really open, so it might be hard to emasculate the mother plant. Is the intensity of the light related to how wide the flowers open?

I don't really know forsure but now that you mention it it does kinda seem tht way
when I used to use cfl's the flowers didn't seem to open as much...or it could just be my mind playing tricks on me
