how long does it take for a flytrap to digest its food? ;)

Not very long usually, mine usually take anywhere from 2 to 5 days, but they don't usually catch anything big. Healthy Dionea usually digest food pretty fast so you shouldn't have to wait long.

a few days because worms are soft and like a smoothie. unlike beetles and ladybugs that have exoskeletons

Keep in mind that if you feed your plant a dead insect you will have to gently massage the outside of the trap for a little while after you trigger it in order for the plant to seal the trap and digest the insect.

The amount of time for a trap to digest an insect can vary a lot depending on temperature, time of year, size of insect, health of the plant and other things. I think it normally takes 5 to 10 days, but it can take up to a month or more and as few as 2 days.
