Death cube surprise

My birthday is coming up soon and my mom and I were visiting her new favorite supermarket (whole foods), and to my surprise, they were carrying a couple of death cubes. An even bigger surprise was that the VFTs in these death cubes looked relatively healthy!

So of course my mom got me one, even after telling me not to spend more money on plants. The one I got looks like it has 3 growth points, but I'll check again after repotting

Very nice! It looks like a flytrap from Rocket Farms in California.

Walmart uses the same vendor and their flytraps always look super healthy.

Don't worry about. Part the fun is hunting them down. Luckily, I found a VFT in Lowes, it's not red like from Walmart, but pretty nonetheless. Sorry for the bad quality, I could get it to focus.

Looks nice, i see nice coloration. Honestly I think u should get one of those walmart rocket farms as well. I think some just look bad because of their circumstances but after proper care I bet it would be red af

They look nice, but at least for me they tend to not retain their coloration once they get established. Mine looked pretty much the same when I first got it, and as it grew it's traps looked way greener. Now all the divisions just look like normal typicals.

We have a decent opportunity to see. I made my neice a vft container using 3 RF vft that were in a kinda messed up batch at Walmart. They all looked stressed and dirty like the box fell over and the flytraps are light green and pink instead of vibrant green and red.

However, his South facing front porch gets 10+ hrs direct sunlight. Ill take an after picture as time passes.
