I don’t know the rules on shipping plants or seeds internationally but have you looked into buying a VFT from the US. I’d imagine you can get the plant/seeds and pay for shipping for much less than $50

50$ ouch well I would buy the cheapest one you can find and get that one healthy enough to where your comfortable in growing them then you can purchase a more expensive plant and the chances of it dying are pretty low. Over watering is probably the number one issue people have when caring for these plants so it happens to everyone. I can take a guess and say your lighting is not close enough or strong enough because you would never be able to overwater your plants (for the most part) if you had a decent evaporation rate. Next time you'll want to get your light bulbs closer to the plant so it dries out the media more often and you'll be having the opposite issues which is not watering enough that's what I've got going on with mine.

I'd send him one of my typicals if he'd cover the shipping... and if I knew how to properly ship them.

Thanks but I don't need any. I'm saving up for another b52. It's really expensive but I want the genetics.

Np. Just make sure you have growing them down, before striving for an ambitious plant. I would check all your starts off the list first, growing medium, pot, water, e.t.c. I'd get a more mature plant.

Tbh, that's only a smidge more expensive than here. They're not terrible. How much is the shipping?

Small fly traps can't handle the stress that older fly traps seem to handle.
A good rule would be fly traps like a lot of water when it's hot. But they like it moist to dryer than normal when it's cold or cooler to avoid mildew and rot.
So sorry to hear.

Sorry for your Loss :(
In all fairness my B52's are $24.99 Canadian which works out to $18.80 USD. With a super fast google search I saw some in stock at the first place I looked, they were $25.00 usd for the same size "small", so more expensive. Not shopping for the best deal or the most expensive...just the first place I looked. (out of stock doesn't count ;) ) Yes Canada Post shipping is expensive but Your shipping was $16.99 Can. which works out to just over $12USD....just saying.
Also You only ordered one plant which made shipping seem really expensive, you likely could have shipped 5 plants for just a few dollars more. Dropping the cost of shipping down to a few bucks per plant. In fact for you area, the most you would ever pay in shipping Is $24.95 Can or $18.49 USD on as many plants or as big of order as you want. $18.49USD is the shipping cap meaning you will never pay more than that for expedited shipping.
Canada is a super expensive country to live in, "Really Expensive" sometimes is really just in the eye of the beholder.

Aw I'm sorry. There's some ones in the fts store. If you near something cheaper, I've had decent success with the bug biting vfts from lowes. Any idea on what happened with your trap? What does the rhizome look and feel like. Maybe it's just top growth?

I've already replaced my vft. Got another B52 and Czech giant x red dragon. This post is pretty old. But I did learn from my mistakes. I killed 2 vfts in my life.
