Always love trying to germinate seeds. Friend says they can grow outdoors here in Florida so that's a double win.

Yes and no.
Intermedia get big enough that they can catch a housefly, but might not be able to hold into it. The leaves are close to the ground, so the fly could use the moss as leverage to pry itself off.
If it was a small housefly, and in its struggles it got turned over, it might stay trapped, but not likely.
