One of my CP dreams is to produce a new cultivar. Is producing a new cultivar like producing a new snake morph? I have trouble understanding the steps that you must go through to produce and register a cultivar. I know its probably really simple, but for whatever reason I can't understand the articles that I've read.

Basically, you get a nice plant that is unique in some way and that you can describe well its uniqueness. Then you get that description, and preferably a photo, published somewhere. The ICPS newsletter is the easiest place to get it published, but a book will do too. That's how the FTS cultivars became officially registered -- descriptions and photos were published in the Dionaea book.
