^^That monster is directly outside my front door. It was small when we bought the place. We have all sorts of things besides grass and trees, I'll get some pics of the lichens and mosses and stuff.

^^amanita muscaria, we get at least a dozen of these on the side yard under the pines in the fall.

Lysurus periphragmoides, only under rare circumstances in this high-plains semi-desert of eastern New Mexico, US, when there are 4-5 days of continuous mist or very high humidity. It's happened only twice in 20 years. The last time, I took some photos of the fungus and uploaded some to wikimedia.org and mushroomobserver.org--
