As a newbie, my earliest purchase was from shady seller on Amazon.

They pictured 2 (mysterious) ruffled pitcher plants. They said it would come in a 3" pot.

What I got was, one tiny plant in a little more than an 1" inch pot.

I complained, they explained that, " They ran out of the item and rather than have me wait. They refunded my money. " To this day, that "Listing" is still running.

Well, that little excursion, left me with an unknown pitcher plant.
A plant, that my Photo ID app., called it, a "Common Swamp pitcher". Further investigation online, led me to this forum.

So now, I will ask you folks !
Is it a "Neph Merabilis, Gaya, Alta or other" ? ili
And how do I care for it ?

I am trying to learn quickly, to get up to speed.

Luckily, it is growing like a weed. It's been transplanted 1 or 2 times already and it's only 1 - 2 months old)

Will post later, on it's, "No Pitchers", problem too .

Thx in advance !

Agreed with @Plant_Master, it's an N. x Ventrata, which is a cross between N. Ventricosa and N. Alata.

It might not be though, wait until it pitchers and we will know for sure :D

You can pretty much grow this plant in any conditions. Best place would be your household windowsill. They can take any type of humidity but prefer intermediate/household conditions. You should never leave it soppy/wet, only moisten the soil ever-so-slightly every couple days. The tray watering method will kill your plant through root rot. If you want more info you can visit websites(I went through like 5 of them to get info on my first Nepenthes, lol), watch YouTube vids and even make new posts on this forum.

Thx for the Tips !

N x Venta is Growing well, will keep it damp.

But the tips for the "Pitchers" keeps "Browning Out" ? (Turns brown & dries up).
What could be the cause ?I
I've been checking for bugs (on top & under the leaves), nothing yet .

Whats worked for me is spraying the tips / developing pitchers every day or so to keep the humidity up near the tips. Just try to keep the tips wet and it should grow full pitchers.

Light may also have affect the pitcher growth, but I would try to spray them first and see what happens.

This Nepe, is getting good sun and growing new shinny, healthy leaves all the time.
Yet, the Pitcher Tips start out green, then turn brown and eventually leave nothing more than a thin blackish, brown string.
While the leaf remains, bright, shinny (waxy shine) & healthy.I

I checked underneath for pests, too ! (None found)
Nepe gets, plenty of water n sun, too !

I hope your tip does the trick !
I am curious about the type of pitchers, it will produce ?

Other Nepe's, are preparing to produce pitchers. So far the others look, a little more promising !

Thx for the Tip !
