Closed traps

As I stated earlier I am new to the hobby.

I have a number of VFTs that have all their traps closed. I keep them in the garage under a grow light. Earlier I believe the light was too bright and sunburn came about due to the traps/leaves getting very blush (red). I turned down the intensity.

With that said, all the traps are closed. Any thoughts on if things are right or wrong? Things I should do differently?

They may have caught bugs in the garage. A picture would help.

TBH, they will probably take the stronger light just fine, acclimation is just needed.
I get closed traps indoors all the time, and it's usually a house fly that crawls on all the traps but doesn't get eaten... If they are in the digestion stage (the trap 'lips' are folded out), you can very gently, without ripping the trap, open one up to see what they're eating.
