Carnivoria Ramesse I

I'm really enjoying the new Carnivoria plants I acquired this winter. There are a few that are similar to many of the GJ clones that look like Alien and Jaws Smiley (older cultivars). Photos below are of one of them that I acquired named Carnivoria Ramesse I. There seem to be quite a few of these types of clones popping up in Europe. Many look pretty cool when they reach full size!

I noticed as I was looking closely at one of the photos that Ramesse I seems to have the many tiny trigger hairs in the trap like Alien does. I tried to zoom and crop but the photo came out a bit blurry. I'll get a better shot of the tiny trigger hairs later.

I really like how the teeth look on traps that are newly opening!!

Very bad ass looking plant Matt! A most have in the collection. Are there any plans to offer any of the Carnivoria Cultivars from your store in the future?

Definitely. We're ramping up production of GJ and Carnivoria clones this year and in coming years. It's hard to keep up with all of the hundreds of flytrap cultivars out there now but I'll do my best each year to propagate at least a few of most of the plants I grow. I'm really impressed with the Carnivoria plants I got this winter and I've been putting tissue in TC, so I'll hopefully have some to offer next year.

Nice additions and glad to hear that more selections are coming to the store!

How is the trap response on the 'RAMESSE I' ? Do they have trouble closing like on 'Alien' or are they fully functional?

I've not played much with it yet but I think most of these clones I'd consider to be in the "Alien cultivar group" don't respond well, particularly as the traps get larger.

So cool... adding this one to the want list!

The stretched, skinny flytrap cultivars are some of my favorites. Love how the cilia curl inward.
