By the water. In land, it was got past 30 degrees. I'm fairly close to the water and my deck got to 30 degrees in the shade.

Well my baby just had it's first meal. Came out yesterday morning to find a trap closed. Took a closer look and saw it had a meal in it's belly. :) Based on the silhouette it looks like a small fly. On a related note, you can see the sprout I mentioned last week is now unfolding into a new trap, and there is yet another new sprout poking it's head above the soil that you can't see in the pic. Looks like she's taking off. :)

Its a variety of VFT's.. they grow VERY large traps.. some of the biggest if not 'THE' biggest.

Heh, thanks. It's easy to take care of it here in CA. Funny to think about how the Los Angeles area is actually wetter than the cactus needs, so I don't have to lay a finger on it. :)
