Hello,
today I noticed, that one of my albino cape sundews is blackening from the tips, even on undeveloped leaves. The sundew is sitting on a southern windowsill in peat mixed with silica sand and watered with distilled water. I repotted it about a month ago.

I have several other cape sundews provided with the same conditions, that are thriving, so I am a bit out of ideas, what could be the problem here. Ill be thankful for any opinion on this!

Im providing photos of the blackened tips and a photo of a healthy sundew in the same pot below for illustration.

Do you see any pests on the plant? Is the media and water free of added minerals? I know you said you water with distilled water but sometimes on the bottle it will say that there are added minerals. In my experience if it has a pink cap it doesn’t have added minerals.

After you repotted it, did you dome it or bag it for 2 - 4 weeks?
It is a possibility that your problem child has roots that aren't keeping up with your plant's moisture requirements after you transplanted it.
Doming/bagging reduces moisture loss from leaf transpiration while roots are settling in to new substrate after repotting.
You can bag it up now and see if the situation improves. Just make sure it's out of full direct sunlight so you don't steam it to death.
Just my 02¢ worth.

I see no pests. The media and water should be free of minerals, I checked the water carefully when buying it.

I didnt bag it - and we have been getting a lot of sunshine lately, so it could be that its struggling to acclimatize. Ill move it out of direct sunlight for a few days/weeks and wait for results, thanks for the tip.
