Growing sarrs doesn't require a painstaking degree of precision, so try not to overthink things. As long as you check a few basic boxes, you can pretty much set-it-and-forget-it. Everyone here has nuanced approaches to growing, but are fundamentally steering you in the right direction.

If you want to play it safe, just remove them from sitting water during dormancy. Just keep the substrate damp.

I know there's a decent number of Cali growers (some with seriously large collections), and i don't think they mess with their setups too much over winter.
